The classic 90s series will get a sequel with the official premiere of the anime Dodge Danko, scheduled for 2026. The new production arrives as a direct sequel to Honoo no Toukyuuji Dodge Danpei, manga that made its mark in the pages of CoroCoro Comic magazine.

Therefore, it's worth remembering that the original work was published between 1989 and 1995, written and illustrated by Tetsuhiro Koshita. Its success was so great that the manga received an anime adaptation that aired between 1991 and 1992, in addition to eight games released for different consoles of the time. In other words, the franchise left a significant mark on Japanese pop culture.

The new generation takes center stage

Now, the spotlight falls on Danko Ichigeki, daughter of the legendary Danpei. Like her father, she dreams of assembling the most powerful dodgeball team. However, this journey will demand courage, sportsmanship, and many twists and turns typical of the best shonen manga.

The confirmation of the anime sparked excitement among nostalgic fans and a curious new generation. After all, sports series continue to gain ground among the most-watched anime, especially those that balance action with drama and overcoming challenges.

So, if you grew up with the competitive spirit of Dodge Danpei, get ready to relive that excitement with a new, energetic protagonist.
